PSALM 52: Olive Tree

From Psalm 52

Why boast O mighty one?

Love endures the longest

While you love your own tongue

Devouring who are His

But you don't get to stand

Uprooted and broken down

That's your fate O mighty man

You don't get to wear the crown

You trusted in abundance

Yet riches can't rid your poverty

You sought refuge in destruction

And still won't bend a knee

But the righteous stand

Sprouting like an olive tree

You pressed them with your hand

Yet it's oil anointed their King

They praise Him endlessly

But there's more to draw in

He will destroy the enemy

When He makes him a friend
